Just purchased the complete Gibson exhaust system for my 93 Adventurer with 454 w P30. Should ship next week in time for a weekend installation. Suppose to be a simple bolt on application. Had a broken exhaust bolt on original manifold, so decided to avoid future problems by converting to the stainless steel system now. We are weekenders, but are planning a great trip to Jackson Hole/Yellowstone this June. Will advise how well the installation goes. I'm have moderate mechanical skills, but have most of the tools I will need.

Definitely keep us posted. Some pictures of the various steps in the install would be great too, if you can manage it.

rv4us, start spraying your manifold nuts & studs now with penetrating oil. That should be the only real issue you'll have to watch for (the old studs may break easily, then you'll have real problems getting them out).

Thanks Troth-RV Roamer. I've been spraying everything down for the last three days with both J-P Blaster and Liquid Wretch. I already have one exhaust manifold off, but plan on taking detailed pictures of the right side when I begin this weekend. I found the broken bolt when I was doing my yearly winter time detailed maintenance, but had been thinking about doing the performance exhaust for awhile anyway. So, the bolt just made a good excuse for a new system. The only other thing I'll do is add a K& N air filter for the intake. I plan on keeping the motorhome for the next 5 years until retirement. With gas prices, we're not sure if we want to buy a new coach on retirement or not, so we're going to wait and see what happens; but keeping the current coach in good shape is a priority just in case we keep it. Will advise on progress.

Well, Gibson is not starting off too well. Received the kit today (ordered on 16th) and it was missing a critical part (y pipe assembly). Called Gibson and they were very helpful. I faxed them a copy of my invoice, they said they will send me the missing part tommorrow. The remainder of the kit looks very well made, even included a small package of antiseize. The only thing not included was the recommended gasket sealant. Instructions seem clear. I will take pictures of the kit and post along with the beginning tear-out photos of the original exhaust tommorrow. We had an ice storm with very cold temperatures over the weekend, so I'm getting a late start on the project.
