Had to have a tire changed on way back from Florida this spring by Ford ERS and I only carry an unmounted spare. Charge for mounting tire on rim was $35 out of my pocket, Ford ERS paid the rest of the call. I think the extra charge is pretty standard with most road service providers.

Interesting!!! I asked the same exact question and was told they would send a tire service who, at my expense, could dismount the bad tire and mount the new tire which I carry. They covered the response, but I covered the extra service needed over and above a simple remove and replace with my spare.

This thread and another on rv.net informed me for the first time that Good Sam and Coach Net ERS don't cover mounting a spare tire or a new replacement tire on a rim. Five years ago I had a blowout and GS came out and mounted a tire I picked up using my toad and there was no labor charge. They have either changed their labor policy since then or they neglected to charge me at the time. I would have been quite upset if I had receive a labor bill, but now I know that mounting a tire on a rim is not covered. I now carry a mounted spare.

This is from GS's brochure ....

Don’t let your trip go flat. A service
technician will replace a flat tire with
your inflated spare. When a spare is
unavailable, we’ll call on our network of
tire providers (you’ll be responsible for
covering the cost of a replacement tire,
mounting and balancing) or we’ll tow
your vehicle to the nearest professional
service center.
Note: Does not include

seasonal tire changes.
