Good Sam lock in plan

Anyone done the $20/yr lockin plan? I have found GS card a fairly good card to have and probably get payback in year, but is the lockin investment giving them your credit card number for yearly use a good idea? Conditions says one can cancel at anytime and I guess if one felt in a bad situation they could have credit card number changed. What say you, fellow RVers?

There are many companies offering automatic payments as part of the renewal or payment service. Insurance, home and car payments, utilities, clubs and organizations. Good Sam has been around for a while, if an error is made you can complain to the credit card company or the primary company, Good Sam. As for the safety of the credit card number, is it any different from using your credit card for on line purchases? For that matter, many credit card companies have had their data hacked already. Amazon keeps my credit card number on file, as does my favorite hobby website...makes ordering easy. My Amex card was hacked at a gas station, a new card was fedexd out next day.
Guess what I'm saying is that is just a sign of the times.

^ Yep, pretty much the same thinking as kalynzoo, I've got most of my recurring payments on my CC, that way I don't have to mess with trying to keep on top of my bills when out of town. Good Sam is just another one.

That being said I do keep a very good eye on my accounts via online banking, and so far Wells Fargo has been great about catching any odd changes in the spending patterns my account and always contacts me via phone to check. I have had issues but never caused by reputable companies having my number.
