Good Sam's extended service plan
I pulled a quote. Very pricy. It looks to me that they exclude coverage from almost everything.....
Does any one want to share some true life examples of what was covered while being covered by their Good Sam's extended warranty? What was the process like and how was the service?

Our policy has separate sections stating what is excluded and what is included. For our MH, the policy cost $3,400 for 3 years, with "0" deductible when Camping World does the work, otherwise $50 deductible. We bought the MH and policy at CW last April, to date the policy has paid for itself. The 2 remote, heated, rearview mirrors had to be replaced under the ESC at a cost of $1,300 ea.+labor, and some appliance work.

I wish my quote was $3400 for 3 years. The best quote I got was $3400 for 2 years. Just too much.
Most of these policies are inclusionary, so unless it specifically spells out something is excluded, it is included.

My Ggod Sam policy costs about $795 per year. I recently used the policy to repair my motorhome. I had brake issues resulting from a bad air over hydraulic accumulator pump. My pump also includes the brains for the ABS brakes. I drove the unit to an International dealer for the repair. During the drive, i had to ride the brakes in order to get the rig to stop causing the ABS wheel sensors to fail. The dealer contacted GoodSam after evaluating the brakes, got prior approval and then found a few more parts needing replacing and recontacted GoodSam. The dealer had to reduce their cost to repair a couple hundred dollars to align with GoodSam's estimated cost to repair. I only had to pay the $500 deductible. The dealer waited about 3 weeks before they were paid, but they let me pick up my rig right after it was done. So, the short of it, I feel happy to have the policy. I have never used it before and have had it for three years. This repair cost GoodSam $5200, so I guess I am ahead of game at this point in time as my investment to date was $2385.
As this is the third ABS unit installed in my 2008 motorhome with 19000 miles, I am thinking of keeping the GoodSam policy. If I did not have the bad history, I probably would have just banked the annual policy cost and take my chances.
Happy Camping, Jim

We have GS Extended warranty on a 2005 Winnie Aspect. Cost is about $550 a year with a $500 ded. Have had it 2 yrs and used once to replace roof heat pump 2 months ago. AC/heat pump cost approx. $1500. I paid $500 to shop GS paid balance. I am about even paying $500 a year for 2 years I basically paid for the heat pump by paying GS 2 years and the deductible of $500. No complaints about service so far.

Thank you all for the feedback.
As with most insurance, I guess it is only expensive if you don't need it.....
For me the Gold policy is;
Term: 1 Year $500 Deductible, Tires coverage, and Extended Seals And Gaskets Total: $1,709.28
That breaks down to $1,347.83 for the policy and $117.44 for tire coverage (no deductible), and $244.01 for the seals and gaskets.
I could see that if the basement A/C went out, or I blew a gasket, or hit something in the road that blew a tire or two, it could easily pay for itself.....
I don't understand the significant difference in premiums though....

Are you sure it is $550 per year and not $550 per quarter?

The never mentioned that there was no deductible for work done at CW.... I wonder if that is just your store or a national policy...

We were told that policy is only available at the same time/when buying a MH from them. Can't hurt to call and ask CW about your policy though, they might save you some money.
