I'm trying to find replacement tires for my coach. I'd like to put on G670RV by Goodyear but my dealer tells me that there are none available in North America and that GY does not have a "build date" for new stock. The dealer is suggesting that I go with G169RSA tires instead. Does anyone have any experience with the RSA tires? If so, what is it? Tire size = 255/70R22.5
Thanks.

I have run them both and if I were not in a real hurry I would wait for the G670RV's as they have performed very well. I have had no complaints on the G169's either but the G670RV's are designed for RV's and has some benifits the G 169's don't. I would try to contact Goodyear directly as the local dealer may just want to unload the other models.

I cant tell you for a fact that the G670 are available since I havent contacted any dealers, but what your dealer said just doesnt make any sense. They are a very popular tire and for him to say they arent available aned dont know when any will be "built" doesnt sound right at all.

Often Goodyear will not have a "build date" set although they are in the production schedule. I have had tires backordered without build dates that came as fast as 1 week. If you have the time I would wait for the "RV" tires. The RSA are a regional pattern tire and I suspect, as others do, that the dealer is just trying to sell what he has.

Thanks to all for the feedback. I doubt that the dealer is trying to sell me only what he has in stock since he would need to order the RSAs as well. I'm waiting to hear from Goodyear about availability. Apparently, and this is third hand, the short supply is a result of Goodyear providing OEM tires for Peterbuilt, a company that they recently acquired.

I dont know where you are getting your info but it is flawed. Peterbilt is a division of Paccar. They also mfr. Kenworth and are a huge international company. Goodyear does not own them and even if they did none of those trucks use RV tires. There is a Goodyear warehouse in Winnipeg. Phone and ask them about availability. Who is your Goodyear dealer in Winnipeg?

We had our MH into the FTL plant at Gaffney SC 3 weeks ago for annual maintenance. A year earlier the XC chassis coming off the line all had XRV's - now it appeared half were GY670's. The MH manufacturers have a choice now and it was pretty clear to me that the choice resulted from buyer unhappiness with the XRV's.

Well, I didn't buy G670 22.5" tires, but they were available here in Ohio 1-1/2 month ago as thats when I bought some G670 19.5 tires for my rig & seen the inventory sheet @ the GY fleet dealer in Brunswick, Ohio. I really find it hard to believe these tires are in short supply as they've been building them for 5 years.

Moisheh, I'm dealing with Fountain Tire. Can you suggest an alternate dealer? As per your suggestion, I'll contact the warehouse.
