I plan on having the box/Controller in the Drivers area.
I'll research it and see what I find. Thanks for the Heads up

That's the RF type that will work some distance away. With the IR type you have to be pointing the remote directly at the sensor, nothing in between, and very limited distance!

I didn't see the length of the ones that your showing us.
I can't see how there is such a big price difference unless one is not as good as the other.
I looked into LED Clearance lights and the cheaper ones had Less leds, and were not as brite as others. The ones I want have 12 leds per 2x4 Fixture. I'm still going for mine. Thanks for the info though.

This kit has the IR remote. If that's what you want then I'm sure it would be a great kit!
Again, with the IR type you have to be pointing the remote directly at the sensor, nothing in between, and very limited distance!

Hey Joe, Got all the parts in so I'm ready - I'm thinking I will use a hole saw inside the Kit. Cabinet then a small through the outside for the wire. I don't want to miss from outside in. I got a waterproof clam for the outside hole to protect the wires. Just had operation so I have to wait till Suzy goes shopping to get the ladder out. Thanks so much for parts and install info - especially remote. I would have been disappointed to have controler in Kit. cab and have to open door for remote.

Dave, you really don't need to use a hole saw inside the cabinet. Just drill a 1/4" hole all the way through from the outside, then tape to wire to a straight piece of metal coathanger and push it through.

I think you will like the RF remote! Hope all goes well!

Joe, can you get a picture of the hole you drilled (location) I'm not seeing a clean place to drill - got the drill through the side and miss feeling. Wondering if I can go through the top of the slide rather than the side. Thanks

Dave, I wouldn't go through the top of the slide!

As you can see in the pic below, the LED strip is mounted to the wide curved wind deflector below the topper roller. I drilled through the deflector, then moved over to the right a few inches and drilled through the side of the slideout, just far enough to be sure I would come through inside the cabinet where the AC outlet for the microwave/convection oven is located. You can see the small cable tie that I put on the cable on each side of the hole to prevent it pulling one way or the other. Hope this helps!

UPDATE- I have noticed that sometimes the LED strips will come on by themselves when we switch between shore power, generator, and inverter. No big deal, but just wanted to add this info!

Joe, I know this thread is 2 yrs old but how has the double sided tape on your installation held up. I'm thinking of doing mine in a channel and screwing the channel to the topper cover. Using tape would be much easier, just don't want it to come unglued.

Hi Tim! Yup, the tape is still holding well! One thing I would do differently is the power. Instead of using the AC adapter I would connect to the 12 VDC light fixture under the kitchen cabinets, just to eliminate the chance of the adapter failing, but so far no problems!
