I own a 2002 Fleetwood storm... Would like to know if anyone has heard of a dual purpose monitor (GPS / Rear view Camera)?

I have a Sony color LCD backup monitor. It has three inputs. I tried sending the video out from my laptop to one of the unused imputs on the back of the monitor. The resolution is not very good and the maps are difficult to see.

I considering mounting a dedicated 15" LCD monitor near the drivers side corner piller hanging upside down from the front overhead cabinetry. I could then feed a VGA signal from my laptop to this monitor. It would only require a glance to the left to monitor my GPS map.

gwcisme, WELCOME to iRV2!!

I would say it definitely depends on "where" this unit is mounted as to whether you actually want the unit to do both the NAV and the rear/side cams...

In my brand new Essex for instance, I chose to mount a second 7" screen over on the left side of the dash,in line with the left pillar in order to see the camera images without physically turning my head some thirty degrees and down to the right. I really felt I was taking my eyes off the road...I still use the NAV/DVD/ portion of the radio but it doesn't mean I take my eyes off the road.

I have the Pioneer AVIC Z1 in my coach, Newmar also uses the Pioneer AVIC D2...they both are NAV/camera monitor adaptable and are nice units.

The Garmin 7200 and 7500 will display the image from a backup camera. Here's a link to the Owner's Manual for the 7200 series. The information about the backup camera can be located in the index under Watching a Video. It is on page 42 of 46.
