Grey Water Handle broke

When I pulled on my grey water handle it broke off. about 5" from the handle, not at the valve itself. I see a Valterra Waste Valve Extension Handle...has anyone used one of these to replace a broken handle?
thanks!!

Is it the shaft that broke or the handle itself? If it is the handle you should be able to unthreading it and pick up a replacement at CW or other RV supply store. I had this happen and replace the plastic handles with metal ones.

If the shaft is broken you likely will need to replace the valve. Normally that is not a big deal, but can be unpleasant if you do not rise the tank well.

Although I've never done it, I'm told the shaft is just threaded into the valve and that you can jus unscrew it and pull it out. Then just slide in a new one and screw it in place.

The shaft broke about 1/2 way between the handle and valve. It seems the rod ran thru a support bracket and over the miles the vibrations weakened the rod enough that it broke

Ah, this is where a picture would help. It sounds like your handle is more remote from the valve than mine. In my case the handle butts up against the valve body when closed and extends about four inches when open.

It sounds like the shaft would be replaceable, but I have no first hand experience with extended shaft applications.

It must be that time , My Black water tank handle just broke right where the handle attaches to the shaft. I saw both metal and plastic replacement handles at a few different places. I think I am going to get the metal ones if they don't work on the vintage unit Ill half to get a new valve.

No I don't want the shaft

am trying to attach a photo.
I discovered that the inside of my Grey Water rod is threaded.... so, I just inserted this threaded metal screw into the rod and will then screw the other end into the rod that goes into the valve....!!!!
