I wonder how that would sound?

I contacted Hadley and the director of sales replied that the horns I currently have are the same - no changes have been made. They are model numbers H00977 and H00978. They do make these in aluminum and that may account for the sound change others have noted.

I've been gifted one horn from my BFF, so I can't pass that up and will get a new set.

I would still spend a little time, clean up the old ones, primer and paint and put on Craigslist. They're always in demand, new or used.

Thanks for the help, but I could not get a human being or an email response to see what their price and availability are. I called twice this morning, after the operator transferred me, no one answered and then the 2nd attempt went to voice mail. Then I used their contact form with the part numbers and have no response yet, though it has only been a couple hours. Still, they can't answer a phone properly, that puts them far down the list of choices regardless of price.

Lichtsinn RV $397 plus S/H
Winnebagoparts.com $392 plus S/H
CPG LLC (Referral from Hadley) $306 plus $25 S/H
eBay Rex and Sons RV $277 free S/H
And the winner is:
Amazon $244 plus tax and free 2-3 day shipping = $262.22

Great idea Don, I will rehab them and make back some of the cost - depending on time as I am prepping my RV for full time and I was to be on the road a month ago.

I can't believe no one has suggested the Tim Allen approach of getting BIGGER HORNS.

A man is just by the size of his horns, you know

That did cross my mind, but I'm sure it would lead to a ticket somewhere.

Veurinksrv finally weighed in and their price is

26" is $187.49 and the 29"is $189.29
that is $377 plus S/H.

My situation might be different than yours. I discovered rust on the horns about a year or two after the coach was built. I contacted Hadley and they did replace the failing part. Call them or email them and see what they say.

I just washed my roof yesterday and took a closer look at the horns. Mine look like aluminum. Rather than have a nice hefty enclosed body like my previous Hadleys, these are stamped pieces and are hollow bodied behind the front piece. I'm sure they won't rust, but they do sound more tinny than my chrome ones did.

I contacted them and they were helpful, but not THAT helpful. They over 10 years old now.

They arrive today, but it will take me a few more days before I'm ready to install. I've got other RV projects already in the works.

They have Arrived

A couple of pics, they look exactly like the originals - minus the rust.

I really like those and may just replace mine with the older style and put mine on Craigslist. The chrome ones just look nicer and certainly sound nicer. Mike, you want to trade for some nice aluminum ones?

Mine looked exactly like your pictures. I removed the rust "bumps", cleaned the surface, dabbed a bit of chrome paint into the "dimples" left from removing the rust. From the ground no-one can tell the difference. For all my metal polishing, I use Venol metal polish. A 3/8 electric drill and cotton buffing cones make aluminum rims, chrome, and SST look like new in a short time.

Pulled into a liquor store a coupla weeks ago, behind a pickup truck- some girl in a car tried to sneak a left turn in front of him, and he hit her with a set of bonafide train horns- even BEHIND this guy the noise those horns made was staggering! Made my Hadleys (which I love btw) sound like 'meep meep' road-runner horns!
