Hartford (AARP) vs FMCA (GMAC)

WOW is all I can say..

Hartford is $1600 for RV & 2 cars. Yes, they also have my home owners too.

GMAC quoted OVER $4000!

I realize that there may be a little bit of an apples vs oranges here but I was SHOCKED!

Anyone else seem something so different?

Yep. When first looking for insurance for my MH, I received quotes from $1,800 to $3,600.

I have AARP Hartford on my home & cars, when I purchased my MH a year ago they informed me that they don't insure MH's. I went to a local agent and have a stand alone separate policy for my MH.

I think somebody misunderstood - The Hartford does indeed offer a motorhome policy, and quite a decent one. I had it for a couple years before switching to National Interstate (more coverage and a lower price).

AARP Hartford has provided my car insurance for many years as well, but I'm leaving them next month - the price jumped two years in a row and seems out of line with reality.

Can you let us know who you switch to for car insurance?

I'm moving to National Interstate, same as my coach. Expect to save a bit over $300/year. I'll actually have slightly better coverage too (reduced deductible).

That is odd since they did mine and even quoted me SD & TX for future planning. I'm a little fuzzy on the FT aspect with them so I will need to beat that answer out of them and get it in writing.

I kinda had that feeling when I saw the OP, they told me that twice. I have not called them yet. I am to the opinion we need to change insurance companies every 3-5 years.

I kept Hartford(AARP) for my home and cars. Went with Progressive for my RV-MH. Don't think it is the best coverage.
