Has anyone refurbished their existing headlights. I have a 2000 Trade winds 38 foot diesel pusher. The headlights are fading (or my eyes may be getting dimmer). I would like to upgrade to the newer headlight beams and was wondering if I should go thru a relay or back through the original wiring. Also the running lights are somewhat dislocated (ie, not very helpful while driving at night. I recognize that I should (and will) reset all the light ground systems but was wondering if anyone has done this before or has any suggestions.

Does your headlight switch get warm? If so, you are probably losing voltage at the headlights due to the headlight power running from the battery to the headlight switch and then out to the headlights. You can check that with a meter. Lost voltage means dimmer lights.

Adding relays for the headlights will make a significant difference in the brightness of the headlights. And if you have separate bulbs for the high beams you can also add another relay that will keep your low beams on when you turn on the high beams....meaning you will have 4 headlights on at the same time.

LMC Truck sells the relay kits but without knowing if you have 2 or 4 headlights its diffifult to determine which kit you will need.

Going to replace my entire headlight assy with factory HID assembly. My coach uses Cadillac Escalade assemblies.

Consumer Reports tested them. Their conclusion was that they were brighter, but made no difference in how far they could see.

I had the right headlight go out last week on my 2000 Lexus RX300. Went to Walmart and got the exact same Sylvania bulb for $9.00 and put it in.

Shining on my garage door that new bulb was a LOT brighter than the old left one. Headed back to Walmart and got another bulb for the left side.
I can see better now.

I try not to drive our M.H. in the dark, we try and fine a place before 5:00 P.M. to stop for the night.

You might want to try and clean the Len's after all your Rig is over 12 years old

so is mine.
About the only time we use our lights is when we are traveling in the rain and only if a large truck passes us on the road and when he gets far enough in front of me I flash my head light to let him or her know that it O.K. to cut in front of me.
Just a thought.
