on our 1994 Safai Sahara w have a heart interface freedom 10, it doen not have a remote panel, but in the kitchen under the sink there is a switch with a light that lights when A/C power is connected, question is should the switch be up or down??? its a black panel with a flat switch...

seems that we are not charging the batteries when on a/c power, we had to start it today to charge the batts.

thanks in advance, i know that we will have many more questions since we are getting into this.

Here is a link for the Owners manual and other info for your unit http://www.xantrex.com/web/id/50/p/d.../7/product.asp
With the coach unplugged and generator off, measure the voltage of the house batteries. Plug the coach in and measure the battery voltage. Make sure the battery disconnect and the charger is turned on. You should see an increase in voltage if the inverter/charger is charging your battery bank.
You can add a remote control panel to you unit if you so desire. Let us know what you find out.

The switch under the sink could be for most anything. One good bet would be that it turns on the 120vac mode for the water heater. Maybe another older Safari owner can offer some better suggestion.

I gather the batteries that do not charge are the house batteries? You apparently were able to start the coach, so the chassis batteries much be ok. As RV Wizard says, check the voltage at the hosue batteries when plugged in. It should be in the 13.3-13.6v range if your Freedom 10 is working and properly connected to the house batteries. By the way, make sure the battery disconnect switch is ON (batteries conneceted). In some rigs, the charger cannot charge batteries if the disconnect is OFF.
