After hooking up at KOA mt Rushmore . Walked outside and water was coming out the overfill. They had a pressure valve at the spout.
How did the tank back fill!?
I installed my pressure valve inline now waiting to see

You forgot the turn the diverter valve or your check valve is leaking.

We also had that happen last year. Turned out to be a bit of dirt in the water pump's check valve. I ran the pump for a bit and flushed out the dirt. No more problem...
If the water pump check valve is defective, you can get an inline check valve to put in the water line coming out of the pump.

Worked yesterday fine. Unhooked, used pump today. Then returned and hooked up again. Any way of knowing this is happening again besides listening for tank filling under bed?

Not really... Water coming out the gravity fill was the only indication I had..

Any time we hook up to higher than average water pressure, the fresh tank fills then overflows. Normal pressure and it works as advertised.

Thanks for the quick response.
After adding my pressure regulator, running the pump for a minute, then turning hookup water on 1/2 way open, all is well.
Now just need to get rid of 1/2 tank of water before drivin in the hills

I highly recommend NEVER hooking up to external water without a pressure regulator in the line.

X2 - Not having and using a pressure regulator is just asking for trouble. Not if just when!

Forget about those "cheap" regulators (those $20 regs at Camping World or Wally World) they'll only last a year and fail when you're using them usually shutting off your water. Get the higher flow, more expensive ($50+) regs.

I picked up mine at Camping World for $57. It has a guage and is adjustable for pressure although the factory setting is at 35psi and works fine. It is larger than the cheapies. We were in Flagstaff where the water pressure was around 100psi! So my old one lasted about one week before shutting off the water completely, everyone else that were staying long term had the kind I went and bought.

I went to Lowe's and bought a Watts regulator. It has worked great for 2 years even at the 160 PSI park in San Antonio TX. Went through 2 cheap ones from CW before I got smart.
