Help with Central Vacuum System

We have a new to us 2003 Monaco Windsor with a Maxum 2000 central vacuum system. I do not have a manual for it and I think it may be a Dirt Devil due the the filter bags I found in the storage but I have been unable to find any other information about it.
My number 1 question: how to turn it on? I plugged in the hose and nothing happens, which leads me to believe that there must be a switch somewhere? My central vacuum in previous S&B home turned on when the hose was plugged in.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Cheers,
Lisa.

Two things. It's powered by 110volts. So you either need to be plugged in or your inverter turned on. Second, they have a 110 volt plug next to the unit in your storage bay. You need to make sure it's plugged in there.

I think the Maxum 2000 is made by Vacuflo - see Maxum Replaceable Filter Bag Power Units.

But where the switch may be is anybody's guess. It may not be a factory install either, so yours could be different than someone else's.

Don't know who made the Maxim 2000, but is is basically a Dirt Devil in different paint. The switch is activated when the cover is lifted to insert the hose. Either yours is broken, it is not plugged in, or fuse/breaker is popped.

Mine starts when you open the door to insert hose. I agree with OP did you check the breakers?
Just my 2 cents,
Tim

Update on Central Vac

Thank you for your troubleshooting and replies. They were all helpful in narrowing down solutions. I could not locate a power switch anywhere and was able to access the wiring through an access panel that was leading to the hose outlet, jiggled it a bit and the power came on.
The only disappointment I have is that the machine was not worth all the trouble and it has weak suction, so will probably be tearing it out and using something else.
Thank you again for your timely help!
Cheers,
Lisa.

My wife did not like our and bought the little Dyson which will take chrome off a bumper. It fits in the cabinet where the previous hose and attachments lived. Now we can use it for the car.

I posted this before but can't find it. We bought our MH almost 5 years ago and I thought that the central vac lacked suction so we never used it . So 1 day I was going to remove the hose and use that compartment for other storage and the end of the hose was clogged with carpet fibers, small pcs of carpet and a couple cig butts I never looked or took off the end. I know the previous owners and they didn't smoke so I presume it was from the finally clean up at the factory. So now it works great and I got a new 32 year old Vacuum. I am even able to get bags for it and the bag of tools was unopened...
true story,
Tim

Our behind the wall hose was disconnected from the wall outlet. Hooked it back up and, voila, it's a great suckemup again.

I'll give it a try

Thank you for the additional thoughts. I will take a look for any clogs or such and then make a final decision as to what to do.
Cheers,
-Lisa.
