Just wondering,

Could a black tank be designed with two or three high pressure nozzles on each side that could spray off the sides and bottom of the tank when it needs cleaning?

I must be missing something or it would have been done already.

Of course it could. It is just a matter of how much do you want to pay? I attended a meeting at a Winnebago G.N.R. with the design/engineering, production, and sales/business personnel. In the meeting they told the end users they could put any option they wanted on the coaches. It was just a matter of cost and what market they were targeting.

A do it yourselfer and/or a good shop should be able to install your design. Remember you are going to have to have enough pressure and volume to drive all your nozzles at once. I think I will just use my one turbo flush and rely on fill and dump suction to clean it.

I think "MaverickBBD" summed it up pretty well. I think if your tank was split open and I gave you a hose with a sprayer and said clean your sensors, you would still have a hard time getting them clean once they get stuff left on them.

Typically, the sprayers are there to push the water from the high end of the tank to the low end. If you want to keep your sensors clean, fill your tank about half full, throw some Dawn in while you drive home or between campgrounds.

While we are spit balling this, how about a small 2" inspection plate on the side of the tank at the very top. it could be screw on with a "O" ring seal.

You could open it and insert a pressure washer nozzle, or just a single stream garden hose nozzle and direct it anywhere you like in the tank.
And you could look around ...if that was your thing.

If the sensors were on the opposite wall, they would be easy to clean this way.

I was bored at a full hook up site and just kept flushing my black tank by dumping 20 gallons of water in and then draining it. I have a clear plastic extension on my waste hose and would normally stop flushing once the rinse water was clear. But this time I put two extra flushes in and on the second flush a whole bunch of nasty came out. So you just never know when the tank is really clean without being able to see inside

Walmart even offers a spray stick specifically for your "inspection port". Now a camera on the end of that stick... We could on to something here.

I just wish they put a tank sprayer on the opposite end of the drain valve end. You would dump much faster and use way less water and you would know your tank was clean

I drilled in 2 sprayer heads, 1 on each opposite side of my black tank and used a "Y" lawn hose fitting to connect both to the main water hose for flushing.
