hi..after 9 years of full timing we find it necessary to store our 2001 itasca in san antonio tx through the summer..last year it was over 100 degrees for most of july and august and we are concerned about how hot it will get in the closed rv and what damage it could cause..we would appreciate any information and advice to minimize our problems and concerns..thanks in advance for your help..jim...

I live in the Dallas area where the temperature exceeds 100 degrees many days in the summer. I don't full time and my coach sits for extended periods in the summer. I don't do anything special and have not have any adverse effects.

I live in the Phoenix area with temps well over 100 degrees. I put a cover over the roof vent to prevent rain (when we get it) from entering then open the vent about half way and crack a window in the front and rear which allows some circulation. About once a week I run the generator and to exercise it I run the a/c so that also helps. The ability to circulate air helps a great deal.

Most RVs, boats and cars sit in the sun all the time. I don't think you would have a problem, they are tough. Crack a window or two and a vent and you should be fine.

hi.thanks for the input..i found a storage yard with 30 foot covered spaces which i will use..i'll stick out a few feet but most of the rv will be under cover..i can crack the windows and vents better... i plan to run the generator and engine monthly..they also have a 15 amp shared electric to periodically charge the batteries..we feel pretty good about the arrangement..thanks agian..jim..
