My coach is 6 years old and I am thinking of replacing the house batteries. There is a temperature sensor(I think) on 1 of the batteries. Is it difficult to remove this and how would I attach it to the new battery? Also wgere is a good source to buy the batteries(4)?

If you get them at Sears you can get them replaced all over the country.

Also Interstate batteries appear o be good.

There are a lot of threads on just heavy duty batteries, gel cells and AGS. If you do a lot of dry camping, I think most people would agree that a flooded cell (traditional) is NOT the way to go.

Our temperature sensor is fastened to the top of a lug. It must be in the battery some way. Absolutely don't cut it, it has a bimetallic end, and when cut, will not work, unless hooked up exactly as it came apart.

Jim, if you're referring to the coach (house) batteries and they're 6volt, Sams Club has a good price on their 6v golf cart batteries which should work in your coach. I would imagine you would attach the sensor to the new batteries the same way it was attached to the ones you're replacing.

The thermal sensor is just stuck on with an adhesive. Anything will work, as long as it is not so thick that it insulates the sensor from the battery heat.

Flooded cell batteries are fine as long as they are true deep cycles, such as golf cart batteries.

Check out the Trojan T-105s, they seem to be the best 6 volt flooded batteries out there.

Yes but are they really worth over $50.00 each more than the ones that Sam's Club sells?
Theirs are actually marked Golf Cart Batteries and sell for less than $72.00 each. I just priced them today at my local Sam's today. Man I saved over $100.00 for the pair!

Jerry, as always value is in the eyes of the consumer. You need to check the capacities of each brand, and I like to look at the total weight of each battery for the lead content.
Let us know how you make out with the Sam's Club barreries.

PS: Who makes the SC batteries you bought ?

It says Exide on the case.
You be the judge.
The top 6 Golf Car Batteries.
Same Weight, same size, same posts.
Higher AmpHr rating by 11% for Trojan.
More cycles by 20% for the Trojan.
Less price by 50% for the Exide!
