I get 8.5 mpg towing a toad.Since that is two vehicles going down the road I figure I'm getting 17 mpg.

My vacation / adventure starts when I turn the key in my MH. Enough said.

$300 insurance savings due to reduced mileage policy
$1440 in parking
= $3050 per year

above doesn't even include depreciation, wear & tear and other maintenance.

That's $3,050 in real cash to pay for for fuel and travel costs for the rv "hobby". We all know that it doesn't offset the overall cost, but it is a start. In this case, all just for being willing to ride a bus for 20 minutes longer than driving each way. I guess i see that as worth it for the vacation payback and i can do my email on the bus anyway, getting back part of the commute time lost and less stress.

For those not yet retired, how do you justify your motorhome mpg? No snide comments please. .

I don't have to just anything. I love to go places in my motorhome and it cost money for gas. What is it with this justification stuff? I spend MY MONEY as I see fit.

For those people who need to justify the fuel that they have to purchase to make the RV move, my suggestion to them is maybe you should be looking for a cheaper RV that doesn't cost an arm & leg to move it down the road.

How do the wealthy justify having multiple homes?

Usually they sit empty for the majority of the year.
I guarantee we spend more nights in our motorhome than they spend at the "cottage" , house on east coast, house on west coast, home in Europe etc.

It's important not only for me but more importantly for the families of my gardener, lawn groomer, the butler both maids and their families. Now get back on topic, MH mpg, not how I and those like me justify my numerous homes! Gees!

Are people who can afford a $300,000 + rig really worried about mpg?
