Pour some stuff in the empty, but connected to the faucet, hose.

Then hook up the the fill connection, turn on the water and push it in.

2X. I have a syrup bottle marked in 2 oz increments with bleach for just that application.

I pour the bleach into the hose then insert the hose and start filling the tank. Automatically puts the bleach in and fills in one easy step.

You can purchase an inline water filter housing and fill it with the correct amount of bleach for your water tank.

I purchased a house filter from Lowe's and rigged it with garden hose fittings. The employees at Lowe's should know how and what it takes. I also use the same filter for all the water coming into the RV.

Shop Whirlpool Opaque Whole-House Pre-Filtration Housing at Lowes.com

This is the filter element I use.

If you have a direct fill spout (opening) to your tank without working through your hose fill you can add the recommended bleach (chlorox) ratio for your total fresh water tank volume - let sit for about 30 minutes - then pump through all faucets - and then drain the entire tank and flush with fresh water ...

I put about 1 quart of bleach in my city water hose. Then connect the hose to the Mirada, place the valves in the "FILL TANK" position, then put about 20 gallons in the fresh tank.

The bleach and water are now mixed in the fresh tank.

Disconnect the City water hose, re-position the valves to "USE"

Turn the pump on and run the toilet and each facet, hot and cold, until I smell bleach in the water.

Let everything sit for an hour, then run the fresh tank empty. Refill the fresh tank with 2-40 gallons of fresh water. then run all the facets again until the bleach is cleared out.

From Clorox,
"To clean out a water tank, first thoroughly flush the tank using a bleach solution of 1 part Clorox® Regular-Bleach per 150 parts water (a 500ppm bleach solution). I’m not sure of the size of your tank or how much bleach solution you will need, but here’s one example: if you want to make up 10 gallons of bleach solution, then you would start with 9 gallons + 15 cups of water, and then add 1 cup + 1 Tablespoon bleach. After flushing the tank with the 500ppm bleach solution, then rinse with a 10ppm bleach solution (1 teaspoon bleach per 10 gallons of water)."
