I ALWAYS turn off the water when leaving, when we had the 5th wheel I had installed a shutoff that worked by remote. Now I just turn off the faucet.

We/I turn off water when leaving for more that a short period of time. I do this for the same reason I bring in the patio awning when leaving for any length of time. It is the flip of a switch, cost noting and I get piece of mind and can relax while dining, or hiking or at the beach or whatever. I have turned off several people's water when I saw it pouring out of the couch and I have seen countless awnings torn off the coach and cause massive damage.
