Only when I needed to move it. Never just to run the engine.

Same here, bad idea just to start it and let it run for awhile. If you feel you have to start it up every once in a while, take it out for a long drive to warm everything up.

IMO the generator and tires need use once a month to keep them in shape. We have a gasser and I do drive about once a month with the generator running under load. We run each A/C for 15 min. or so to load the generator and the A/C.

Just a few minutes before I push D. Just when I'm going somewhere. Last long set was 7 months, started just like an overnight stop. Now the bakes were a different story they hung engaged on the rear, thought I'd never get going, think I'll now do a 3 month start and go somewhere even if nowhere.

Mine has been a sleep since last November, no starts, waiting on new Actia display than will move to inspection station middle of month.
Has been plugged in to house 110 since Nov. as every winter after oil filter change and has been in same state for 7 years and 6 coach's.

I feel the same way Mike. It needs exercise and I just like to drive it.

I run mine once a month. But only because I want to exercise the jacks and slides.

Not by choice but so far it's never caused us a problem. This time it's going to be a loooong stretch - 9 month. Cross fingers - I hope everything is OK as we have no chance of checking things out during this time.

Since you have a diesel, and it's going to sit that long, I'd add a biocide to keep critters from growing in any water you might accumulate from condensation in the fuel tank. It's carried by any marine store.

I run mine on a trip, short or long once a month. Not for the sake of the Motorhome but for the Sanity of me.
