How to clean white streaks?

Hello All,

We have had a few days of rain off and on here in the Northeast and although my coach is basically clean, there are white streaks coming down the side of the brown full body paint on the sides of the coach. Rather than wash the entire coach, what can I do to wipe off the white smudges? Do I use a waterless wash, a wax solution, or just a damp rag?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Faith

Faith, sounds like you need to clean the roof. I have a fiberglass roof and it did the same thing. From reading on this site it was recommended to wash the roof and then wax with "Mop and Glow" floor treatment. I had my coach done by Dazzeling Detail at the perry FMCA last month. They use Jonson Floor wax. They washed our roof and coach for 80.00 bucks. The roof wax was 25.00 extra. So for so good. As for as getting the white off , washing is best. Just get the fiberglass sealed and you should be good for a year or so. Hope this helps.

If you have white sealant in seams of coach and at roof edge the sealant maybe dried out and needs to be replaced.
Your owners manual should tell you what sealant to use.
I have a 03 and in process of redoing the seams.

The white streaks are from the roof - give it a thorough wash every 3 months and that should cut down on the problem.

For touch ups on the sides, I usually use a 10% solution of white vinegar in water. sprayed on and wiped off with a microfiber cloth. Works great and its cheap. If you want a prepared solution, by a spray "detailer" or waterless wash at an auto store, Walmart auto dept, or wherever.
