How to move slide covers?

I need to move (or remove?) the slide covers from my bedroom slides so I can access the slide roof to reseal the edges with Eternabond. Do I have to remove all the hardware from the outside of the slide and flip it over on the roof? That would do it but I hate to start opening up and resealing holes on the outside that aren’t leaking. Is there a trick? Or some other way? TIA

What brand and model covers do you have? Pictures?
On some you can open the slide, finish unrolling the fabric and use a screwdriver to hold the tension on the roller, remove some screws and slide the fabric out.

Thanks, I see where that might be possible. I think they are A&E but not sure. Will get a picture. BUT if I get the cover off it looks like I can’t get to the internal edge of the slide. It is under the edge and seal. Do I need to tip the slide (not happening) or can I do something with the slide closed. Surely someone has done this. Am I the only one with a leaky slide roof?

To get at that edge, you may have to work from inside the coach, with the slide closed, or partially closed.

Have come to that conclusion and am in the process. Now how do I get to the outside edge? Still need to remove cover! Pictures of covers:Click image for larger version

Different toppers than I have, but you should be able to 'pin' the spring on the tube, then just unbolt the tube and lay it on your roof, out of your way.

By unbolt the tube, are we talking about removing the entire attaching hardware from the side of the slide. I have great fear of removing bolts that are not leaking from the thin sides of the coach and trying to replace them with out creating damage or leaks.

I doubt it, but like I said, I don't have that type of toppers.

This may help.
