That's a cute test to see which paper will break up in a jar. The correlation between that test and whether paper will clog a black tank has never been verified, as far as I know. We just all assume that if paper breaks down easily in the jar test it must be better in a black tank. After years of watching black tanks empty through a transparent pipe, I am convinced that any "septic safe" paper works well. Our choice of paper is driven by what works best on our behinds, not what does well in the jar test.

If it does not clump, it does not clog.

That test is fine for those who need to dump ten seconds after using the toilet, but I tend to leave it in the black tank for a bit longer than that.

Every couple of weeks. I'll fill the black tank with about 10 gal of water after dumping and heading on the road. I'll pour a bag of ice in the black tank and go driving to my next site. The ice cubes will break up any solids in your tank by bouncing around in the tank. Then empty the tank upon arrival. Seems to keep the tank cleaned out.

I've never used any special toilet paper in the past 30 years and never had a problem.
I add a cup of cheap liquid laundry detergent to my clean tanks and try to have the black tank full when I dump.

I always use AngleSoft (available at Walmart) as it septic tank safe, cheap, and is available nationally. At it dissolves just fine.

If the wrapper says: "Safe for septic systems" it'll work fine. We use the Kirkland brand TP.

use a full bowl of water after the flush...
less water is the culprit to hmmmm clumps being stuck when you dump.

Over or under? And agreed on "safe for septic tanks". RV TP is a bad joke IMHO.

Septic Safe is a good bet to buy.

If the finger test fails, it's safe to use.
