How to wire shore power panel

I have wired a 100 Amp sub panel with 3 30amp double pole breakers and 1 30 amp single pole breaker. I have 3- 50 amp RV plugs and 1- 30 amp RV plug.
The double pole breakers are 2 on one side and 1 on the other side of the panel.

Here is my concern. I have each breaker wired identically so that if everyone were to plug in 50 amp to 30 amp adapters I believe that they will all be drawing off the same bus of the panel.

Should I swap location of the load for one of the double pole breakers so as to get a more balanced load on the neutral, as well as both legs of the shore power?

So, you have a 2-pole 30 amp breaker feeding a 50 amp plug?

Power panel should already be split into 2 busses

Every other CB slot is on same buss
SO 1,3,5 etc would be hot from one buss and 2,4,6 etc would be hot from other buss

But as posted above......
You have a 30A breaker feeding a 50A RV Plug?
30A is 1 Hot, 1 Neutral, 1 Ground
50A is 2 Hots, 1 Neutral, 1 Ground


You are feeding subpanel from main panel with 2 hots........correct?

Max you can draw from 1 leg is 100 Amp. Neutral should be same size as each leg, do not downsize. 50 Amp RVs do not draw equal power on both legs, and with only 30 Amp available on each leg there is no way to calculate neutral currents, so plan for the max. 100 Amps for main and 30 Amps to RVs. IMHO. There is no problem under powering the 50 Amp receptacle, you just limit the load. RVs seldom use 12,000 watts.

I follow what your saying, but what your asking, assumes that ALL 50 to 30 amp adaptors tap the same leg.

Have you confirmed that ?

You could build your own adaptors, tapping the X leg on some and the Y leg on others.

If 2 breakers on the left using the top 4 slots and 1 double pole, top 2 slots, and 1 single, 3rd slot, then you're as balanced as you can get. This assumes, as you said, that all breakers and outlets are wired the same AND all 30 amp adapters use the same hot leg. In that case the left side breakers will supply all power from either buss 1 or 2 and the right side will supply power from the opposite buss.

Agree, that's the safest way to tackle this issue.

The OP obviously has a handle on what he is doing and doesn't need to hire an electrician. He was just concerned about unbalanced loads on the two hot legs to the sub-panel.

You got my point exactly. I have no way of knowing if all adapters tap the same leg. If they do then I could get unbalanced load assuming every 50 amp plug had an adapter hooked up.

I guess I should swap one pair of hots to lessen the possibility of all the load being on one leg.

I guess camp grounds use a method of supplying a 30 and 50 plug and alternating which leg hooks to the 30 amp plugs are able to control the load balancing. My minimal OCD wired every breaker and plug identical so that they all ended up on the same buss.
