Wifey just installed the decibel meter app on her iPhone, and we've been having great fun, measuring various noise levels.

For those of you with iPhones willing to plunk down $.99 for this handy tool, how does your rig rate?

We took an audio snapshot at 65 mph on smooth pavement in light winds, scored 71-73 dB in the front seats of our 2005 Fleetwood Excursion. By comparison, her new Honda Crosstour rang in at 69 dB.

Remember to turn off your stereo, tell the kids to hush...

I just downloaded the sound meter for the Droid. Very nice app and the price is right (free). It shows the max, min and median values and has a comparison chart that ranges from whispering to a jet engine.
