Hubcaps

Need to get some new hubcaps
Nut sure if I should get what they call a "Pound On " or ones that fasten under the Lug Nut???
also at same time I want to get some stainless steel flexible valve extenders as it now is almost impossible to check my air pressure & install air if necessary
The most important item with these extenders is to install a metal pyramid shaped support for the outer end of the valve extenders
I've seen a few on other RV & they are about 2 inches long & get the end of the extender out far enough so as to make it easy to check & fill tire
As it is now I need to lie on the ground just to see end of valve & end up letting more air out then in
Is any one familiar with these type supports???
Please help if you have experience with these & the best type of hubcaps
Thanks
Ted

Those stainless flexible valve extenders shouldn't be used if you have rubber valve stems. They usually come with L brackets which can be riveted to the wheel simulators. You would also want the simulators that are held on with bolts, not the "pound on" wheel simulators. The latter could fall off, and take the stainless extensions with them, probably causing a fair amount of damage.

Best thing to do is get metal valve STEMS installed, NOT those flexible extensions. Do it once and be done with it - you won't regret it! Does your rig have dual rear wheels? Check out Dually valve kits for Motor-homes, Busses and 6-wheeled chassis - quality product made for your set-up. Otherwise any tire shop that deals with truck tires can install metal valve stems or various length. As for hubcaps, known as wheel simulators, I think those that are held on by a bolt are better. Mine are not, but I use "zip ties" to keep them from flying off. Can't offer a recommendation as to who makes the simulators, though... ST
