I've never heard of a switch to turn off any jack system alarm, but you might get a better response if you mentioned the brand and model of jacking system you have, or at least the year, make & model of coach.

Your key only needs to be on for up to 60 seconds when you first plug in the ScanGauge to initialize the connection and then you can turn the key off to continue your setup. It will after about 12 seconds go into sleep mode and will work as follows:

"AUTOMATIC SLEEP MODE
About 12 seconds after turning off the vehicle or pressing a button after
the vehicle engine is turned off, the ScanGaugeII will automatically
power down into a sleep mode. The display will go blank and the
backlighting will turn off if it was on. Starting the engine or pressing the
HOME button will automatically reactivate the ScanGaugeII and it will
return to the screen and lamp settings it had just before it went to sleep."

So you should not need to have the key on and the jack alarm sounding during the entire setup. You could also pull in the slides and store the jacks while setting up the ScanGuage with the key on.
