I need your input

This happened during the cold weather of TN in Dec-Jan. I was running the furnace to keep warm and we are watching TV. Then we hold a loud pop sound and it sound if it was coming from underneath the rig. I turned off the furnace when outside to check around and did not see anything wrong, did not smell propane and did not see any leak. After that, we left things alone and brought a space heater. Once we got back to FL, I had the dealer check the RV and could not find anything wrong. Has this happen to anyone out there? Thanks

Have you tried the furnace since you heard the pop? Does it ignite the gas and the fan operate? What did the dealer say about it?

Yes we did tried it one morning in may up in NJ to get the chill out and it work. When the dealer checked it he did not see anything wrong. Today I when to tried to the turn it on but it to hot in the rv for the furnace to kick in. It there a way to just turn the furnace on and off without setting the temp? Have no book for it beside a RV manual which doesn't give much.

I'd think if you turned the thermostat all the way up it might kick in.

Sorry about that, I see you're in Florida. You could look up your thermostat on Google for a manual or wiring diagram. Then jumper the wire to the furnace. You also could turn on the A/C until it drops, then switch to heat and give the furnace a test.

Best bet is to go with the AC bring the temp down and then switch to the furnace and see if it kick in. Let you know in a few days.

No need to start the AC this morning to check the furnace. Turned furnace on and it kick in blowing out hot heat. So furnace it working well.

The sound may well have been something totally unrelated to your RV or furnace. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

I was just wondering what that sound was, since everything works so far I am good.

The sound could have been duct work 'oil-canning' from the temperature differential of the heated air and the duct metal. If your furnace had failed to light, it will automatically shut down. Unless you got inside and outside temperatures similar to the time it 'popped' you might not be able to reproduce the sound.

I agree. I have had this happen on my old 5er.
