Bill, you will need the pump on or be connected to city water for the ice maker to make ice. Check to be sure if there is a valve on the outside vent area that it is on. If you have a water filtered water dispenser make sure the filter is in place and that if there is a valve under the sink that it is on as well. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Bill, there should be 8 oz. of water put into the mold at the end of the harvest cycle; any more than that and it will overflow. Are you using a water pressure regulator? If so and you still get too much water in you may need to check out as to why this is happening. Does the rake (finger looking platic piece) rotate around? Let me know and I will try to help you diagnose it.

I recently discovered that my Norcold ice maker does not empty the ice into the bin unless there's AC power present. Everything else works on propane power.
I can't imagine there's a problem and although it may not be exactly the same issue you are having it does seem normal.

The icemaker will only harvest (rake rotates) when several things are present. As Abarkl has stated you will need to have 120 volts present unless you have the newest version that work off 12 volt dc. The ice level sensing arm is all the way down and the mold thermostat has reached about 17 degrees. Then it will go thru it's cycle and at the end add water.

Bill,
Does your '96 Safari have the U Line Ice Maker?
If so you probably have a BI-95 U Line.
Turn it on, make sure you have water to it, and come back in 2-3 hours and you will have ice.
If you are getting too much water, remove the front cover of the ice maker section. Under it is a cube size selector knob.
If it is not cold enough, remove the lower front pannel. There is a thermostat adjustment screw there. The water valve is also there, it may not be shutting off and allowing too much water thru, causing the over flow condition you are describing.
We need more info from you as to what you have.
Jim

You can turn down the water a little be positioing the small tab that is spring loaded in the direction of the "-" sign on the screw you mentioned. If it does not go into a harvest mode then the ice sensing switch or the thermostat is not closing. If the unit is running and getting cold then it is getting ac power. I would recomend you have a qualified technician diagnose and repair the ice maker for you at this point.
