I'm sorry it's all my fault

We are leaving for a four week trip on the 21st so fuel prices will be up 30 to 40 cents a gallon by then! It always happens when we plan to travel so plan around the 21st and the 17th of Sept!

Fuel prices are dropping, not going up.

You obviously don't live in Canada; right?

If one is to believe the news, fuel prices will continue to drop until 2014 unless a hurricane or tropical storm disrupts refineries and oil production.

Or Egypt spits, or Saudi Arabia sneezes, or Yemen coughs, or Kuwait burps, or....etc. Seems any little hiccup from SW Asia or N Africa is cause for fuel hikes.

Funny. Wife and I say the same thing. We hit the road sept of 2009 headed to colonial Williamsburg and gas went up to $4.29 while we were on the road. Some stations were closed in Mississippi and alabama, out of gas. We're headed out for Yosemite and grand canyon this sept. Expect gas spikes again. :'\

if you are like us you have a 100g tank if you feel gas well go up add gas now

if you are not sure just add 50g so if it gos up then its not so hard on you and if it gos down well i am sure you get it

i keep a gas can in the back of the towed every time i go out with it and have to stop for gas with the towed i put 3 to 5g in a can at the end of the month or time to pull out its not so bad and adds up if you set for 3 months

I read on Gas Buddy today where they said it was going to spike here in the great lakes area because whole sale prices spiked. They were saying 15 to 30 cents in the next few days. We shall see I guess, but I leave on a 2 week trip Friday so it probably will.

Fuel spiked just before one of our big out West trips a few year ago. The trip was going to cost an additional $1000. Everyone was asking me what I was going to do. My answer was then and is now the same. When I get ready to go on a trip I take that trip. Fill up when I need fuel & never let fuel price dictate rather I have a good trip or not. It for sure not right the way they move the prices around. But for sure I'm not big enough to be on the side to manipulate the price so I'll just slide my card and enjoy my ride!!!

Isn't gasoline the only fuel prices expected to drop? From what I see at the local pumps diesel is staying steady and only gas is dropping.

Here it's $3.659 at a local ARCO even though the US average is $3.589 or so in the paper this morning.
WA never seems to go as low as the national average.
We have a 150 gallon tank so it does give me a little latitude to fill a little early or later depending on what I can find.
