As looking at c and b class Rvs to buy for a trip in USA. Came across a Japan Inport for sale.

So is there many imported Motorhomes in USA, where would they be listed and being right hand drive, are they 100% legal in all states.

Why would you want one. Its hard enough to find parts for the ones built here. They might have different electrical in them.

There are almost zero imported RVs in the USA - mostly it's US RVs exported elsewhere.

By law, imported vehicles have to be brought into compliance with US vehicle standards, so it would be legal to drive on the highway. That says nothing about electrical or plumbing or anything else - just highway legal.

Agree with winniman - US built motorhomes are problem enough. No need to import problems.

If I were in the market, and had $1.2 million dollars for a European MH, I would seriously consider a Volkner MH.
They are left-hand drive, with full electronics to convert measurements to any standard desired.The downside is lack of stateside support, which will effectively kill any chance of U.S. sales.

The European influence has already been incorporated into American-made RV's today.

Pleasure way and leisure way are both Canadian imports. Considered top of the line class c's.

It was just a thought, as once we have had our trip around USA we were going to ship it back to UK.

UK fuel prices are higher than USA so was thinking something a little better than normal 12/15 on Class B and C Rvs.

Something imported from Canada is not the same as something from the other side of the world. Support is available in Canada, as well as the US. Probably most of the parts used are the same ones found on most other domestic rvs. To the OP, you would probably be money in hand to just resell an rv you bought from here. Shipping something across the world has to be pretty pricey. A used motorhome isn't going to depreciate much in a short period.

You might consider it the same, I don't, you guys kicked our butts twice during the indian wars.

There are a number of class b units that are built on the Mercedes diesel chassis but they are outfitted in the USA or Canada.Mercedes is German last I heard .

That was the War of 1812 and it was British regulars such as the 89th Foot (later the 2nd Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers) who were most responsible for the butt kicking we were handed. Though the American Indian allies of the Brits and the Canadian militia were helpful.

Another option you may wish to consider. The short DP Class A a Thor Palazzo unit is very popular in the UK. There is local support in the UK for the conversion from US power and standards to UK including converting to right hand drive. The benefit is you could get one here used and then drive it around the US for your trip and then ship it to the UK as a used unit and have it converted to UK standards. The reason it's so popular is it's size. It is a very short 208" wheelbase with a 55 degree wheel cut and an overall stated length of 33' (34.5' bumper to bumper). It is great for dry camping because it has a 100 gallon fresh, 50 gallon grey & black tanks as well as a 90 gallon diesel tank. Fuel economy is better than any Class C gas units and many Class B units as well. It has an air ride suspension and is comfortable to drive. The price point is in the same range as many Class B diesel units. It can tow up to 10,000# as long as you stay in your GCWR. Keep in mind it isn't a luxury unit. Vinyl floors and moderate components.
