Thanks to everyone for your ideas

Thanks to all of you who replied to my query. Always lots of good ideas and diverse opinions. Unfortunately, Stacey Frank no longer owns Weighit@gmail.com. He sold it to someone who is running the business in Canada.

I have found a company named SpecTrac in Gilbert, AZ(480-545-5533) who did 4 wheel weighing but his scales wore out and he could not get replacement parts. New scales are over $10K. He is hoping to have the new scales in Nov/Dec 2012.

He did not know of anyone else in the Phoenix/Tucson area who does this serevice.

Thanks again...........Don

Don--I don't know how close you are to Congress, AZ, but Escapees has a weighing operation there. SmartWeigh_Default

We had our rig weighed at the Livingston TX facility several months ago and they did a very professional job.

+1 on the Escapees Smart Weigh. They do a very good job. They did ours last year in Livingston.

Recently had our coach weighed at the American Coach Association rally in Yuma, AZ by RV Weigh. Paul & Doris are VERY knowledgeable on the issues we face. They did a great job. Check out their website at RV WEIGH - Mobile Weigh Station for their list of where they will be. They are base in Henderson, NV but make a lot of the larger rallies out that way.

One of the keys to weighing is to show up loaded as you would normally travel. For us that was full of fuel, 1/4 tank fresh water, empty black tank, and 3/4 tank LPG.

Do they give you a chance to shuffle some stuff around and do a re-weigh?

It is easier to find one than you can believe.

First: If you can manage to make friends with a "Diesel Smokey" they can do it,

But since that might end up costing more for the thank you brew than the fee charged by this outfit... RV Safety & Education Foundation

And follow the links from there.

They will call and interview you (Year and make of RV, size and make and model of tires) make an appointment and come to you.. They will scout the area near you for a flat spot and you meet them there (or follow) and they weigh your rig using their calibrated portable scales (Same ones the diesel smokeys have in the trunk). They also check your tire pressure gauge and do some other stuff the Motor Carrier Enforcement Officers can not do.
