People say taxes are high in NY but I find them to be pretty much average compared to other places I'd choose to live.
Taxes are not bad in NY once you get out of The City!!

I have a 2015 F-150 pick up, I don't remember the exact amount of my registration but I know it was in excess of $500.

I bough a new corvett back in 2004, again the registration was north of $500 but now, since the excise tax is based on the value of the vehicle, those plates now cost me around $120.

Home taxes here are in line with Upstate.........

I grew up in Brooklyn but lived in Saratoga Springs when I moved to the Mid-West........glad I got to know the "Other New York". Beautiful place.....

I bought a used coach in Florida and registered it in TN. It cost me 6.5% tax. Annual registration fee is $75 per vehicle which includes a wheel tax.

I complain when it goes up, as it did this last year, but after reading these posts I don't feel so bad.

2016 Indiana registration for our 2011 Ventana is around $1,100. I have no idea where this money goes but know it's not for roads. Roads in Indiana are terrible.

We purchased our new to us 2001 Dutch Star last year and registered it here in Kentucky. Paid 6% sales tax on the sale price, and got my registration renewal last week for 2016. $529.68, or which $500.18 is tax of various state, county, and local flavors . . . . . on a 15 year old Motor Coach! Oh well, I own a Class A Diesel Pusher, so I must be rich, right?!?

And people wonder why full timers move their residency to South Dakota, Texas, Montana, etc!

All states have to have money to operate just depends on whose pocket I comes out of. And which pocket. In WV sales tax is %5.00 on auto. my motorhome has the same tag as the car. Wv has a income tax but not bad.

I assume just about anywhere will be better than Taxachusetts, but this could be a factor in deciding what state would best serve as a base camp when we pick up part timing in a few years.
Mine came to $450. That is taxes, title and plates. No personal property here. This year my plate renewal will be $24.00. No inspection required. Oklahoma.
