Insurance and Roadside service contracts

New owner of a 33' 1998 Winnebago Chieftain, ford v10. First RV for us.
I have an insurance and roadside assistance quote from BlueSky RV Motor club.
Do any of you more experienced RVers have any opinions of this company or can recommend others?

Welcome to the forum!

You'll find that for roadside assisstence, CoachNet is by far the most popular here. You might want to use the search function to check out previous discussions on insurance. There's a ton of info available and rates vary widely.

Good luck...

Rick

Never used BlueSky so I don't know about them, sorry. What we have is insurance with GMAC through Camping World program and our ERS is CoachNet which is geared to Class A's and has the best tech's and service. We did have Good Sam ERS but it was a total dud with the coach, just ok with the vehicles.

Thanks RickO...I did perform a search on the entire board and after scrolling through 10 screens, I didn't see any useful info, hence my post.
Thanks again.

A previous thread on Blue Sky (which we have as well) didn't elicit answers from anyone who had claims, so no claims info. Price is very competitive.

Check the specifics of the road service policy, particularly HOW FAR they will tow the motor home and to what kind of facility. Coach Net, I believe, has an unlimited tow distance to a qualified facility; AAA has a 100 mile limit, but will drop at any kind of destination.

What you DON'T want is a service that shows up with an itty-bitty tow truck, drags you 10 miles and drops you at the nearest Bob's Cutrate Car Repair.

We have had Allstate Motor Club RVROADHELP since 1999 and have had great luck. We have used it several times and been very satisfied with the service.

The two times we had an RV towed we just signed the form the tow truck driver brought and that was the paperwork. Also use if for our regular vehicles, locked keys in car and couple other instances.

Google them for info etc....

We have AAA and used it last week. I had a brake caliper lock up and started a brake fire. We got off the road, put out the fire and called AAA. I was also calling places to take it to. The only way GM and their dealerships could have been of less help is if they didn't pick up the phone.

AAA bent over backwards to find someone to tow and work on it. Although he was not a AAA tow service, they picked up the tab for the heavy duty wrecker and towed it 40 miles one way.

Now I was very skeptical about Henry, but he did great work and got us on our way.
