We are strongly considering switching from a trailer to a Class C, and are wondering what the increase in insurance rates will be. Anyone willing to share their insurance costs along with the estimated value of the vehicle? Thanks in advance.

2003 Kontry Star Class A $113K new, full replacement cost for the first 5 years, decreasing detuctable $650 a year through Progressive. I also have 2 2005 Honda ATV's with full coverage through Progressive for $212 for both. I got a discount on the ATV's beacuse of the Motorhome. Another Insurance company wanted $440 to insure the ATV's.

Insurance rates will vary dramatically depending on the state the vehicle is insured in and your own personal situation (driving record, age and sex of all drivers), so don't set too much store by what someone else, somewhere else, pays.

You will be paying for liability insurance on a motorhome in addition to collision & comprehensive coverage and that will be a substantial difference.

Agree, best to call your insurance person and ask that question.
