The 400w inverter in my Adv. is not enought to run the TV and Sat. This I know because I called Dem. who builds it. If its too small you would think Dem. would want to help when it goes bad. Just paid $200 for TV. I will not buy a new Dem. so what do I need to replace it? I would like to have 6 or 800w unit. The XPower 1200w is $199 at CW. Is this good enought? Or should I get a Xantrex RS400 for $400? N4FAP

My 600w inverter runs my sat and older tv just fine, but some of the newer tv's degouse on start up and can be hard on the lower wattage units. The best way to power the inverter is with heavy ( maybe #6) power leads direct from the battery. If your trying to use the cigarette lighter plug, its not going to work well. And you will probably have to replace the inverters often.
You can find the best deals on inverters at truck stops. Flying J is the best. CW is kind of expensive for them.

Walmart has a 700 watt inverter that's priced around $70. I installed one in my 5th wheel and it runs both TV's fine. My TV has the degaussing circuit too (I think all color TV's have that).
