Inverter Question

Our inverter is not working in our new coach. we recently purchased a Jayco 31 FK.

So when I went looking to find the inverter to see if there was a reset button on it or a fuse, I found that they had mounted it along with the consider amount of other electrical equipment underneath the bed! The electrical transfer switch is located there along with the 125/12v power center and breakers / fuse.

It would seem to me this is just not a great place in a closed compartment to mount something like that it needs a lot of ventilation.

Am I being a nervous Nora or is this the norm?

Well the compartment is not all that closed, and many mount them there (There is a fair amount of air space there) If you are truly worried you can do wonders with a 4: circle cutter, a smaller drill (like 1/8 inch) a 4" computer fan and a disc-thermostat to power the fan.. fans like that eat 12 volts. Do put a grill over it so you do not damage it

Metal grill| Wood frame | Fan

That's actually a quite common place to locate that stuff. It's gotta be somewhere, and it needs to be protected from the elements, and under the bed is relatively roomy and (hopefully) dry. My coach has it's load center, multiplex power switching system, and load management system under there. I've seen others with inverter, charger and transfer switch as well.
