Doesn't come stock with a GPS, I think there was a Sat radio on the dash once, there is a whole for the cable and screw marks in the dash.

Looks like a GPS antenna. Thin cable should terminate with a 9 pin serial connector. Later year models terminate with a UBS connector.

Is the front TV under the , thing? If so removing the TV and checking to see if any wiring from the , thing , is running to any other , thing , in the coach.

I have no GPS so the foil won't work, but thanks for the suggestion.

So if it is a GPS antenna, did it come pre-wired on the 05' Journey without actually being installed, like they do for CB radio? And where would that 9 pin serial cable be?

When I had the dash top cover off this week I did not see anything connected to the monitor.

I have the original sticker listing all options and std equip and GPS is not one of them - SAT radio is and I see no antenna for that, though it could have been an interior mounted one.

Original TV is gone and wood walls are in its place to create storage. I didn't see any wires coming from that area, but they could have been run to the central area where lots of wires come and go from under the ceiling covering.

I will have a look at the wire diagram, maybe a clue will be there.

Just a guess, but previous owner installed GPS transceiver. Different from a normal GPS for traffic. This is like the truckers use, where the unit receives coordinates for location, then transmits the location to the office so that dispatchers can see where their trucks are. I could be totally wrong, it could also be a roof mounted muffler bearing with a lot of Dicor sealant.

I was actually hoping it was a siren, or at least an electric horn - either would bring on fond memories, or maybe even radar.

Great Pictures! My guess is GPS or XM.
My Sat antenna is very small. Do you have a sat radio?
I'm thinking more Sat Radio than anything else now as that would be
more efficient than a small one with no ground plane. Those sat antennas do not work well on fiberglass roofs. I know.

You're all wrong, it's a garfler with intermittent transient squazzles which help control the kerfunkler system which operates the thermodoink under the crassblammer to protect you from lightning.

FYI-- You don't need to install a satellite antenna on your roof, you can install it under the fiberglass front cap. The signal will pass through fiberglass.

My XM radio antenna is working great on the aluminum support frame under the front cap.
