Is this awning fully extended? It rolls out and in as expected.
I don't recall the model. I had the manual Fiesta and Omegas on my other RV for 10 years.

If it's not fully extended what should I look at?

Yes/no

If you notice the "flap" as rolled almost enough to start re-rolling under the main.

I would reverse till the flap was straight, just because I'm weird like that.

That is the way my awning support arms look, too, when fully extended. \ken

That is exactly 1/2 revoluton of the bar from fully extended.

The "Flap" should be on the outside, not the inside, and there should be one vacant channel on the roller visible roughly where the flap is now (A bit "Below" the current attachment point")

Check the slide seals inside the coach where the seals butt against the wall. If the frame of the slide is tight against the wall, you are fully extended. If your awning looks like that when fully extended, the awning was installed incorrectly. That horizontal arm joint should not have the turn in it when extended.

Not familiar with that awning because I am new to these M.H's but the dead give away is the side arm is not straight it has an angle to it and if it is not straight it is not fully open that would mean it is susceptible to wind catching it and I mean normal wind not excessive wind. JMO

No not fully extended. Flap should be on the outside. I agree close and open several times to see if it opens all the way.

That is a Carefree Colorado OneTouch patio awning. As indicated above, it is not quite fully extended. The arms should pop up almost straight. HOWEVER, what it is doing is typical of the One Touch. I often had to "help" the arms pop up the final bit. AND, I sometimes had to help them pop down to begin the retract procedure. Apparently the motor is just a bit weak.

The One Touch is an obsolete model. When our arms were destroyed by a gust of wind in 2010, we used the One Touch roller & fabric and bought an Ellipse arms kit from Carefree. It works much better, and would easily take the gust of wind that destroyed the One Touch with no problems.

The awning is 1/4 turn from being fully extended. If it was me, it is good enough where it is. The awning arms should not be fully extended. As they are pictured, the arms allow the awning to flex with wind and allow the auto retract mechanism to operate correctly. Lastly if the awning receives rain, with the arms as they are pictured, the awning should kneel, allowing the excess water to drain off the rear of the awning.

To me, your awning is perfectly extended. The stitching that holds the plastic piping in the awning's fabric(that holds it into the roller's track) is out of direct sunlight and that aids in the stitching's/awning's longevity. I've also seen many extend the awning out too far leaving a 'drough' for water to accumulate at the seam that is now below the height of the roller. Being wet for extended times can not be good.

I always set up our awning exactly as depicted in your photo...after over 10 years, that seam and fabric still looked great...even in the brutal Florida sun.

Even when "fully extended", the OneTouch arms will fold at the elbow if sufficient force from wind or pooled water is put on them. That is exactly what mine did when the arms were destroyed. A strong wind gust folded the arms to the point that the inner portion of the rear elbow contacted the wall of the MH as if stowed, and the outer portion was turned into a pretzel.

I agree and learned something new today. But, the DW wants the hangers placed and a string of lights.
I will try the unroll and roll several times to see if it will go out any further. But, only for those times when the DW wants lights.
