Jack Antenna
Hi all- I have a Jack antenna in my moho which worked good when I bought the motorhome. It would show me blue signal lights that would vary depending on the direction I swing it. Lately (using my home location for comparison) it doesn't show me blue lights and I'm not able to tune any channels in. After I run my auto-program I move it and try again. Nothing. Anyone have any suggestions? TIA!

I have the power switch on a coaxial wall plate but nothing is coming out of the connector. I don't see anything that's not connected so not sure if there should be a feed coming from the back.

You may take your wall plate out and see if there is a fuse on the back of it. You should be see 12 volts to the unit, if not there is a fuse someplace else that is out.

Does the light come on on that coxial wall plate?
Light must be on for Antenna to work.. This gets power from a DIFFERENT place than ye junk signal meter (Blue lights you mentioned)
Had to learn a lot about the Jack a couple months back.. Glad I have a Winegard Sensar II or III with Wingman plus Sensar Pro I am.

Yes, there's a button for antenna, it powers on and it also turns on the antenna.
What is the connection on the powered wall plate to go to?

Went and looked at it some more and tried another TV. The other TV programmed no channels. Wiring all looks good.
I realize now there are two outputs of the wall plate, one behind and one out the front. I think I might try hooking up the front connector.
Also I noticed I have a passive splitter for the 4 TV's. Seems like this might be an issue unless the Jack wall plate acts as an amplifier.
Any help appreciate!

I think the coax connector on the roof antenna came loose. I was up there poking around but it looked sealed. It was dark out and my flip flop fell off my foot as I was getting on the ladder to come down. I'll go up there tomorrow and take the case off.

I have the jack antenna and am really happy with it. Last trip I found I had no tv anywhere in the MH. The amplifier for the antenna is built into the head on the roof and it failed. Replaced the antenna and it works perfectly now. I also put one on my home to pick up locals when my satellite goes on the fritz during storms. It works great also.

Just a thought...i was in a tight spot last summer and my antenna hit a tree limb and spun hard. Well that cut the coax cable in half and i lost the signal and blue lights you spoke of. U may need to get on the roof and take apart and see if this is the case. It was easy to take apart. A bit difficult to replace the coax.

"Car54".....The jack antenna wall plate, (back side) has two coax connections. One is for your "park cable" coax TV connection - connection coming from your exterior "park cable" usually located at the rear of your coach in a bay. The other connection is for the coax coming down from the Jack antenna. When the power button on the wall plate is turned on, the antenna is activated and working. When the power is turned off, the wall plate has an internal switch that switches over to the "park cable" connection.
If you have them hooked up backwards, you will have an issue. Remove the wall plate and make sure the coax coming from the antenna is hooked to the "antenna" connection and make sure you have 12 volt power to the wall plate.

Is that a satellite next to your Jack? Got it hooked up?

I Took my Winegard Sensar off last year and replaced it with a Jack antenna and have been very disapointed with the performance. I am going to reinstall my Sensar and not look back.
