Rear closet hangers constantly coming off the rod while traveling. Closet runs across the back. We have installed foam pipe insulation on the rod which has produced minimum benefits. I understand there are special hangers which can be purchased but was looking for alternative solutions.

Do like I do, fill your closets so full of hanging clothes, they can't move!

Or you could cut pieces of that waffle non-skid rubber that we use in cabinets and put the hanger top through one hole and back through another so it is on the bottom of the top.

Ours didn't come with rods. It has a flat bar with holes in it the size you can put those fat plastic hangers. It also holds 2-3 wire hangers in each hole. A very good system for an RV.

Since your closest runs across the back, it's subjected to all those bumps, which is probably the major if not all of the problem.

If you can't find a rod like this, you could get some of these hangers:

Bit of a pain to do sometimes, but a length of plastic pipe, same length as the closet rod and larger in diameter, cut length-wise in half. Use a spring clip at each end to clamp it down over the tops of the hangers.

I would gain a lot of weight so your new clothes will be heavier.......no more problem! Worked for me.

i purchased a rubber maid ventilated shelving that has the clothes hangar cut out. then i removed all but 5" if the shelve width and attached it to the closet ceiling. now the hangars can only moved about 1" and they stay put

Okay...this works, it really, really works. All you have to do is turn your hangers around on the rod so that the open "hook" is facing backwards. It was a headscratcher to me too, but I've done this now for the last 2-3 trips and I haven't had ONE hanger fall off the rod. No expensive hangers to buy, no mods to make. Super easy!!!

Turn some frontwards and some backwards. Tie them together with ball bungee cords.

I agree with roadstar..... Our closet, whuch us across the back is very full..... Never had a hanger come off, keep the extras in a box at the bottom...... No brainer, buy more clothes..... Lol

Depending on how much room is at the top of the closet (travel room for the hangers) get a noodle one of those pool play things, cut it to length and just jam it on top of the hangers, before you travel, between the rod and the roof.
