I have a Corian sink in my house kitchen and the installer used plumbers putty on the drain and garbage disposal. He was a Corian factory authorized installer. Never had any problems.

I believe the real question is if it is safe to use with Corian and it is.

Plumber's putty inside and the rubber washer outside under the big nut holding the whole thing in.
