Question Kwikee Step Lube

I’ve always used Kwik Lube on my electric entry steps, but my local RV parts supply no longer carries it. I can buy it online, but shipping is more than the product.

Can anyone recommend an alternative spray lube for the steps?

Thanks.

Craig

I use Corrosion-X because I use it on almost anything. Available at many marine stores ... not cheap but best product available.

Kwikee recommends a spray grease not just an oil. I have been using wd-40 spray Grease not the standard WD-40. It has worked very well and virtually silenced my steps during movement.

Stop your local motorcycle dealer and buy a can chain lube. It is a spray grease just like the Kwikee grease.

I've been using Silikroil for years (from Kano Labs). It contains silicone also

They will even send you a can for free. I've freed up several units steps recently for guests at the RV park in Maine we stay at in the summer.

Great stuff, used frequently in industrial applications.

You need to use a dry lub not oil or grease as they will hold dirt. Go to Walmart and buy some slidout dry lub spray (in the RV section).

Castrol motorcycle chain lube works great. Once per year works.

Surely some other RV parts place will have it even if your local dealer does not. Next time you go by another dealer or store (e.g. CW), stock up on Kwikee lube. I keep cans in the RV and in my workshop at home - it's not just for steps.

I use the Kroil products that Max mentioned as well - one of the best penetrating lubes anywhere.

In the meantime, motorcycle chain lube should do the job nicely. Plenty of cling yet liquid enough to flow into the crevices and around pivot points.

I used spray lithium grease on mine when they stopped retracting all the way. Worked great.
