Kwikee steps

The steps on my 05 Dolphin will not extend. I took it apart and every thing is free and the motor will run one way but when it trys to reverse it runs a split second and stops. I extended it manualy and re asembled it and it retracts but will not extend. Could this be a bad controler and if so where is the best place to buy one.

Here was the problem (and solution) I had, if it matches yours...
Ellipse Entry Step Problem
The motor replacement was straightforward.

Thanks for the reply but mine doesn't make any noise it will only operate in one direction. It will retract but it won't deploy.
