I wanted to let everyone know about a discovery I made today. My kwiki step stopped working today. The motor would cycle but would not retract or extend the step. Would spin, but nothing more. I took the motor off, took it apart, screwed it up. I immediately went to Camping World to try to buy a new motor, but they stated it would take 1.5 - 2 weeks, I had to have the motor # etc. This wasn't going to work for me since we are leaving on vacation on Sunday. A mechanic friend (I had hoped he could rebuild the motor) told me it looked like a power window motor. Long story short, I went to AutoZone, the manager took one look at it, identified it as a Ford Power Window Motor and had one in stock. It set me back $50.00 and we've (DW and myself) have already have it installed an running. Just thought everyone might like to know that they can save a lot of money if they have a problem with the motor and can get it identified as the correct motor and get it at an autoparts store rather than a RV shop or ordering online.

Thank you for the post and the information. Good thing to look at before anyone goes out and spends a lot of extra money on parts that may be used generically in the auto industry. Why try and reinvent the wheel.
