Labels and decals

Posted: 05/13/10 03:27pmLink | Print | Notify Moderator
Hey folks,

Does anyone have knowledge of a RV parts website that sells compartment stickers/decals that you find on new RV's that say stuff like......."Potable water only".....or "LPG"......or "110 volts".......or "Cable/phone hook up"...or those kind of labels?

I contacted Thor... They don't sell them. Contacted two rv dealers... Nope..

I repainted part of the camper and now dad wants the labeling replaced.

If you have close up photos of the original labels, you could go to any sign shop or a Staples office supply and have labels made.

Here's one place that has a number of RV labels for sale:

Here's another, but they only sell in lots of 100.

Try these guys: CDI

They might know a supplier for you.

A print shop can make labels for you.

I made labels with a P-Touch label machine for an airplane I built.

See if something like this may be acceptable.

I had them made out of plastic by a vendor at a FMCA Rally. You can have them made at a shop that makes trophy's, etc. Any color, any size, etc. Most of mine are red and about 1" high so they can't be missed. I can take a picture tomorrow if needed.

Would they be weather proof? Those look good, but, I imaging not much rain and road grime inside the plane.

I have some labels I made with my Brother P-Touch that have been on the outside of our coach for several years now. I mostly use black lettering on a clear background, but almost any color combination is available. I also have my name labeled on several pieces of outdoor equipment, e.g. BBQ, forks, fish fileting knives, and such. Those get used and abused and also washed regularly and the labels just go on and on. And they aren't even the waterproof type.

They have weatherproof label material as well as several other types. Different sizes (label width) too. Here are some of them:

Virago Rider; Thety seem to do fairly well. I've had some on the outside, i.e. tire pressure, strut pressue.. They hang in there with 250 mph and expoised to sun and weather.

The inside of cockpit get very hot, and they are OK with that.

Experiment a little with the settings and the frame on the printer, you'll be surprise that the quality is often acceptable
