I have inherited a ladder bike rack and I'am looking for some pixs of them in operation. The info. on sale fliers does not show how two bikes will ride on the carrier without extenting passsed the corner of RV if they are set on as standard carriers.I have seen them with the bikes hanging with the wheels up and down instead of sideways but don't see what is actual hooked on the carrier.Pix would realy help.

The bikes hang vertically. If it is like my carrier, you hang the bikes on the post that goes from the seat to the crank.

I have never seen bikes hanging sideways on a ladder carrier, always see them hanging vertically...not saying that some may be set up sideways, I just haven't seen it.
I bought a rack that fits in the hitch of the back of the toad....holds our bikes just fine.

I would be very carefull with this type of bike rack. There is allot of movement on the rear of the coach, and it causes allot of stress on the mounts of the ladder. I would not reccomend it at all. There are receiver type racks that would be better and safer. I have repaired way to many of these, some have lost bikes and ladders!

Like Mikeeg said, they hang vertically, and yes, my mountain bike extends beyound the side of the RV by a few inches. I'll be getting rid of the ladder type carrier & getting a hitch mount for the reason that NY Moose stated &, because I don't want to scrath the black ladder on my new Tiffin
