The no start is consistantly every other key up. Key up and go into crank and it starts, key down and key back up and the dash lights come on but no crank, key back down and then back up and it starts. This will do it time after time, 2002 Airstream Land Yacht MH 30'

Welcome dustyg to irv2.
Didn't say what chassis but you should check for a loose or dirty ground connection on chassis frame from battery, chassis battery ground cable connection or ground strap cable from engine to frame of chassis.
You could also have a bad connection on ignition switch or bad switch.
Let us know how your making out.

Does the starter motor turn over but not engage the flywheel. If so then you could have a stuck bendix that tends to stick from engine heat. Other than that would look for a loose wiring connection

Starter engages every other time (consistantly) and engine starts. The time that it does not enguage the dash lights come on and do not dim or enguage the starter, if you key all the way back down and re-key it will start and work fine. I am wondering if this unit has a BCM and there is a safety or securty preventing to get starter signal.

Are you hitting the gear selector when shutting off the switch on the first try? If so the Neutral Safety switch is out of adjustment (on the shifter or steering column).
Hope this helps. Joe

Based on your latest info then if the neutral safety switch is not defective then the iginition switch would be suspect IMO

I think if the Ign switch was bad we would be getting intermittant starts/no starts, this one does it every other key up consistantly. Starts then no start and the times we have a no start the starter does not even attempt to engage (no signal going to the starter.

Depending on the type, if Ford it may be near the battery and easy to test, others are mounted to the starter motor.
The signal comes from the key as low current 12 volts, it powers a coil that either just makes a large copper disk make the connection or it also pulls in the bendix before making the connection.
If the ford type then easy to test, locate first, then measure output side when not working, this will be tricky as one must HOLD the key in start when not working while someone measures.
It could be a loose signal wire, intermittent coil or a bad spot on the disk, in any event the replacement part is cheap and easy to replace.
If on the starter not so cheap and not so easy to replace.
You can also listen for the clicking when turning the key to see if it clicks every time, if no click then likely bad interlock switch, again a voltmeter is the tool you need and a little time.
