That can be a nagging issue with leveling systems that use a spring retract. At Equalizer Systems, we utilize our hydraulic pump for both the extend AND retract functions. There are many benefits to doing it this way, but one obvious plus side is that a worn out or broken spring won't ever leave you stuck with a jack on the ground!

Clean the ram (silver part) and spray with WD-40, wipe clean. Do this 3 or 4 times a year and you will not have any problems.

springs rarelly solve that problem, even hwh says so in there manual.

All jacks should automatically retract within 2 minutes. Even if they all are up within that time let the full cycle run (let the HWH control shut it off, do not do it manually by turning the HWH off or shutting off the ignition.

Same foer me! I would use the same fluid you put in the resevoir and wipe the jacks down with it, and it would retract all the way. The new springs will help. Regards

The hydraulic fluid is a dirt magnet and becomes sticky as it dries. WD40 is recommended by HWH to clean the ram. If you take a couple of q-tips and wet them with WD-40 and clean around the seal at the bottom of the ram, it will help your retract time. As far as retract time there is a chart combing time vs temperature for retraction. You need something like 7 minutes for full retraction before the company considers it a fault. I am not sure that all HWH systems have a timed shut off after retraction or extension. I have a 310 system and have never had an automatic shut down, but YMMV.

To get it to retract fully, I have to use WD40 on my left rear jack after every few deployments of the jack. This jack is also the slowest to retract, probably because it is the furthest one from the hydraulic pump and therefore has the furthest to push the fluid back to the reservoir.
